An independent Research Team for Telecommunications Networks at the university of applied science Frankfurt am Main (Fachhochschule Frankfurt/Main) tested the power consumption of VoIP phones produced by seven well-known manufacturers. The snom Open Communications Solution “snom OCS edition” enables snom phone users to register their handsets directly with the Microsoft® Office Communication Server 2007 R2. The new firmware from snom enables users to enjoy the rich, productivity-enhancing collaboration features of Microsoft Office Communication Server (OCS) with any snom executive VoIP phone. The “snom OCS edition“ phone additionally supports the open SIP protocol and can work in parallel with existing IP PBXs.
